Health Warranty

We want you to be confident that you are getting a healthy puppy, so we do provide a 2 year health warranty against testable genetic conditions in our contract, in addition to doing health testing prior to breeding. Our breeding dogs have had genetic testing, PennHIP to get a picture of hip health, elbow images checked through OFA, Cardiac and eye evaluations certified through OFA. As hip health is important, we also want to make sure you are proactive about it once you get your new family member home. Genetics are only one component, environment plays a huge role, some might argue it being the larger impact of the two. 

While in our care, from day one, puppies will have flooring that has texture and grip to minimize slipping on those little forming joints. Continuing to keep good footing under your puppy and minimizing access to slippery surfaces at home also is recommended, not doing forced exercise and keeping repetitive activities such as "fetch" to a minimum. 

As much as possible we try to limit running up and down stairs beyond necessity, jumping on and off higher surfaces during the first year and recommend that to you also. Keeping pup at an ideal weight is very important, you may be surprised to learn what many see as "ideal" is actually overweight. Carrying extra weight that their structure is not made to carry causes stress on those joints. We want all of our puppies to have the best shot at long, healthy, pain free lives. 

  As a responsible breeder you will also see a return/rehome clause in the contract. We want to make sure if something unfortunate happens requiring a rehoming, that we can work together to find a suitable solution. We do not want one of our beloved babies ending up in a shelter or rescue, so this is why this is in our contract.
